PRESS RELEASE
UNR Students Write U.S. Constitution in Chalk for Ron Paul RENO, NV, November 19, 2007--- A group of UNR students, who call themselves the Ron Paul Pack, has written the entire United States Constitution in chalk outside the Lawlor Events Center in honor of Congressman Ron Paul's visit tomorrow. The dedicated group of six students were aided by one local Meet-Up volunteer, and spent their Sunday afternoon kneeling on the cement by the steps of Lawlor Events Center, writing over six thousand words in colorful chalk. "As Americans, our Constitution defines our law, our society, and our liberty," said Kelly Bridegum, president of the ASUN-recognized Ron Paul Pack. "I think sometimes people forget how integral the simple words of that document are to them, their life, their freedom, and their security. We decided to chalk the Constitution because we realize that about this document," she added. "We think the time, energy, and size of this project convey that." The group estimates the chalking is forty-five feet long, and twelve feet wide, covering about five-hundred and forty square feet of cement. Congressman Ron Paul, who has described himself as the champion of the Constitution, is visiting the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, tomorrow, November 20th. A rally will be held in the Silver & Blue Room of the Lawlor Events Center at 3 pm. "We felt this was an appropriate way to celebrate and mark his visit to our campus," said Robert Terhune, vice-president of the Ron Paul Pack. "Ron Paul's entire campaign is centered on following the Constitution." Ron Paul will hold a press conference in the Silver & Blue Room at 10 am on Tuesday. Please see attached photos.
